Matisse inspired abstract workshop - (Paint and collage) Full 2.5hr session with 2 tutors to give individual help
(£45, with all materials provided)
Where: Room 2, Kings Theatre, 9 Esplanade, Kirkcaldy KY1 1HR
Tutors: Patricia Bay & Caroline McGonigal
We are excited to present a Matisse inspired workshop where we will work with bold colours and decorative patterns. (This is a workshop suitable for all).
Henri Matisse was a French artist, primarily known for both his use of colour and his fluid and original draughtsmanship.
He developed a way of working with flattened forms and decorative pattern.
When his health declined in his final years and prevented him from painting, he created an important body of work using Collage in a bold and simplified way.
What to expect:
We will introduce Matisse's work as a starting point, then there will be a chance to paint and create your own painted cut outs to use. We will explain abstract art and help you to learn ways of using different materials and shapes to create an abstract composition.
All materials are provided.
Free tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.
Please wear old clothes as collage and paint can be messy.

Please arrive around 1.50pm to get settled, so you'll be ready to start the class at 2pm.
The class is held in a lovely spacious room with a view over the sea, so we hope you'll be inspired and we look forward to welcoming you!
